Storybırd
Storybird is being benefitted from several teachers whose purpose is to encourage their learners to write stories. Through the use of illustrations, the learners are able to write their stories and at the same time follow a time pattern that the story requires, thus students may both learn and practice the grammar rules. The students can also test their knowledge with quizzes and writing challenges after the class. How this site works is that it starts with "jumpstart creativity" through artwork, enabling them to scaffold their ideas. Moreover, it is very efficient for class management as it requires no e-mail registration. Furthermore, its writing curriculum is designed by educators and offers many writing ideas, quizzes, worksheets, and video tutorials that can be used in the grammar classroom. Thanks to its fun nature, students can be exposed to grammar forms implicitly such as stories including past tense, and the learners' being subjected to the data by situational scenes. This is not just valid for past tense, it can be applied to all of the other tenses. If the last photo below is examined, it can be seen that there are blank photos that are needed to be filled with writings, and while doing that they need to consider the time it takes place, modals, etc. For this reason, this tool can be pretty useful in-class use.
